The action

The aim of the “Refugee Crisis Knowledge and Action Platform” is to gather the knowledge produced in the framework of research, national and European research projects and other initiatives developed by the University of the Aegean, by institutions operating in the Aegean Sea on refugee crisis issues. In addition, in the framework of the Euraxess European Initiative science4refugees, in which the University of the Aegean participates as a Contact Point of the European and National EURAXESS Network, actions will be developed to enhance the mobility, training and career of refugee researchers. The Activities of Action 1.6 are related to

The systematic recording and analysis of the needs of the target group through applied research.

The interdisciplinary design of educational digital material, which responds to the needs of the target group on the one hand and to the needs of the labor market and employment and entrepreneurship opportunities on the other.

The organization of Interactive Educational and Consultative Laboratories to promote the services and activities provided under the “Science4Refugees” Initiative.

The creation of a Knowledge and Action Platform on the refugee-migration issue, drawing information from existing databases of documented data, with a single documentation system, consisting of qualitative and geo-spatial visualized data as well as documentation and reports of research and results of research projects and initiatives, and other publications and actions. The documentation of the methodology for the collection, processing and analysis of the data and documentation, as the Platform will support the collection, classification and management of the documentation, based on international documentation standards, while its development will be carried out through free/open source software (FOSS).

The organization of information and awareness-raising actions for the target group regarding the services provided and the operation of the infrastructure under this Action.

The interaction and synergy with the scientific community, as well as with Institutions of the Three Sectors, at international, national and local level.

The goal of the action is, on the one hand, to record the actual needs of education and training of adult refugees-migrants and based on this to design innovative, interactive, educational and advisory actions and, on the other hand, to develop an open access platform, specializing in the dissemination of information on the refugee/migration issue from different sources (international and national institutions, social networks) in Greece and abroad.
